Mix and match, big splits with small stuff, I do it all the time with my fireplace insert.

I definitely prefer fat splits. If I'm starting a fire from scratch I'll just split one into smaller ones.

No this batch was free first and last time. He has a ton to, it’s ashame but it is what it is. I’m not trying to have to put 6262736 logs in at once to maintain a warm cozy fire so I’ll use this quickly and move back to finding seasoned logs

Firm believer in in all sizes needed, fat, medium and skinny. Get yourself a Kindling Cracker from Northern Tool to whittle down bigger splits when needed, I love the thing. Wait for their coupons to come out. I think I got mine for $69 on a special coupon. Screen Shot 2022-01-25 at 11.54.59 AM.png

Welcome to FHC. You'll like it here. We like beer, dogs and pics. Lots of pics. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who are willing to share.

I like beer. I Like dogs. I like people who cut wood. Anybody who doesn't like dogs can't be trusted in my book.

Stack them tight and restrict airflow. That will make the wood last longer. I am in upper Bucks Co. and have a supply of bigger split wood seasoning since the fall of 2018. Let me know if you are interested and we can work something out.

I appreciate it Hookedup24 but I haven’t paid for wood in a long time. I usually find free wood around or on social media when people are giving it away. But thanks.
I’ve been a member for a long time, I know the people and I love ‘em :))) lol

Nick always splits them large, we sell firewood year around and most people like the larger pieces. He’s self admitting to being lazy lol so the bigger splits are less work! It’s a win-win for him!

Eric VW thanks for the welcome back
