Anyone in south eastern Mass. looking to cut some red oak fire wood? We have more trees down than we will ever get to. Have tractor to haul out and trailer will cut with you and split 50/50. Not in a hurry as I just retired but would like to see it go to someone in need.
That's about an hour away. I don't need the wood, but wouldn't turn any away! I'm retired, and if you do need some help with it, I'd be happy to do so. Always good to meet another hoarder.
Don’t know your location but we are one hour away from Millville by way of 495 if that gives you an idea of how far.
Ok Mike I am heading out now will talk this evening about getting together for a wood hauling event. By the way do you have a truck or trailer to haul wood home?
I am going to have to look it up as I over see a farm that my company owns and they grow sweet corn for market. If it was named Mattapoisett sweet corn we would not be able to grow enough.
We can cut whatever we can, and I'll take some of it in my minivan. I'm not concerned about an even 50/50 split. Wish I had a truck or trailer. I used to have a Dakota PU, mid-sized. The van, for what I use it for, is quite versatile. Any pictures and sizes of what you have going on there?
I will get out tomorrow after this storm blows over and take a few pictures of the treetops and standing oaks to cut. Also have lots of dead dry standing oaks in the 6-10” range that are ready to cut and burn.
My brother used to do the tree cutting at Tabor Academy and some of his wood supply came from there but his arthritis is so bad now he's been buying firewood. 10 years ago he would have jumped on this in a heartbeat. I'm struggling to keep up on my own lot.
Mike I did some cutting today and took pictures of a few of the trees I have to cut. I will post them in a new post.
It does me good to see Hoarders getting together like this, it really does! Very nice of you to offer some wood, gboutdoors! And I can tell you first hand that MikeInMa is a good man, having met him at Brian's GTG in NH a few years back.....he got to run the Old Hogleg (my 1960 Stihl Contra).
gboutdoors and I were going to get together today at his place, to cut wood. Change of plans. Mother Nature decided that today is not the day for us to go wooding. Overnight snow and now drizzle, makes for a non-fun time. Next week, weather permitting. Still time for other members to join us.
