Heavy piece of black locust smashed my big toe this morning just tipped it over and boom lucky it only got the tip or id be miserable
I was bare foot this happened before where i broke the toe nail…i gotta start puttin shoes on before i load the woodstove in the morning
Can't like that post Last Spring I nailed my right big toe from a dropped split, loading the trailer. The preceding Fall, I did the same to my left big toe. Same deal. Loading a trailer with wood. Both were black and I actually lost the left toe nail completely. The left toe nail is fine now, but the right still has some black near the tip. It takes a long time for nails to grow back. 9-12 months it seems. I think I've learned my lesson about warning tennis shoes while doing any firewood work.
I’m waiting on the nail of my right pinky finger to fall off and grow back. Smashed it good between a big heavy round and the sharp edge of the splitter wedge. damm near peed my pants
"Its the gift that keeps on giving " My theory is the slow growth of the nails is a mechanism that reminds you to not do that again!
