Do you want more pictures? It's been a couple years since I really did much serious wood cutting.
Finally got a chance to get into the woods again, and, WOW, is there a lot of wild cucumber and other mess. But a few days work blasted in a little ways, and now I've got some more work at home. That 461 in the picture has a 30 inch bar on it. Those logs are about half of what we (mostly I) hauled out over four days. IMG-2510e.jpg IMG-2509e.jpg IMG-2506e.jpg IMG-2497e.jpg All total, we got probably a years supply for my Dad, who heats exclusively with wood, and two years for my supplemental heating needs.
This stuff is NICE!! IMG-2499e.jpg IMG-2507e.jpg

We saw some of that in '19 when we stopped by Brandon Scott's old place on the way home from Dennis' GTG...

Nice logs and tractor. I helped my cousin farm for several years. I drove his 4640 a good bit. Had to get a neighbor's 4840 to get me out of a few wet spots...:whistle:

    Ooh, trees.
You must be near a river.
Cus what little of Nebraska I've driven thru ([granted, mostly 80] at least until you get into Colorado or Wyoming) if it was flat plowable land, it was growing something.

Next time you go through Nebraska, take highway 2 through the Sandhills. That'll give you something new to see.
But, yeah, this is by a river

It's actually quite farmable ground, but it's cut off from the rest of that parcel by the river. So there's 7-8 acres of good ground that's just left to grow up in trees and brush. Terrible, I know.
If I actually owned it, I'd probably have cleared it by now and be renting it to the neighbors for a grand or so a year. That'd buy all the propane I need.

Parents live in Greeley and own some land in the area, he cash rents it out. I lived in Nebraska my entire life. How's York these days?

Not many trees to see here either but very unique county, late may or early June is the prettiest time around here

York has been having a wonderful winter!! A few cold days, a little snow, then it warms up and melts off. It's Great!!

Of course, just saying that might jinx it. Fortunately, there's plenty of wood to knock on!!! :axe::stacker:

You do have the wood. I feel mother nature is just itching to slam us one of these days. Tend to get at least one a year.

I think that up here in Dakotah Territory as well. We never have the same scenery twice with the way our skies get painted.

I was up at Dad's and figured I may as well snap a picture of the rest of that four-day haul. I had unloaded the logs up there kinda helter-skelter, cause I was trying to get as many loads as possible. He's bucked up a lot of it, and done a little hand splitting. I think my nephews will show up there one of these days to finish CSS's it.

There's actually quite bit of wood in those back two piles. He thought it might end up being close to two years supply for him.

I just filled up the basement wood rack, and realized that I'm bringing some of the last of the splits from that stack of rounds that's in the last picture of the first post of this thread.
They're really nice. I threw the first armful in the Ideal Steel (onto a nice coal bed) and the dang cat tried to run away before I finished filling up the rack. I had to close the intake and the damper almost all the way down to keep the stack under 700 degrees.
