New white oak score

    A friend of mine at work told me about a tree in the town where he lives, about 20 miles from us. Had a chance Thursday evening to meet him and check it out. 0120221736_HDR.jpg

    It's on a hill, we gonna have to be careful with the tractor.

    Great score. You can tell it must’ve been a beautiful old shade tree with large sprawling limbs while it was still standing.

    That looks like fun from here. I don't generally get a lot of white oak but did haul a fair amount several years ago from cleaning a logging area of tree tops. Last winter I burnt 5 or 6 year old white oak during the real cold of winter.
