What in the world did i come across on the good ol facebook the other night?

Why so much money for something that looks so cheap?

I found the manufacturers website and the price is nearly spot on versus a new unit.

    What am i missing?!
And look at that itty bitty hydro fluid tank.

For that price they better be splitting it and stacking it for you too. Maybe the manure spreader comes with it also???

I figured it out! All the bird chit, chipped blade and wear increased the value over new. :picard:

Wallenstein has a very good reputation, but that's stupid money for a used machine of that size. I got a decent used Iron & Oak of the same size in good running condition for $900.00 in August. Very comparable machine. Somebody trying to take advantage of a tight market.

Bingo! The market is tight. New log splitters are like hens teeth right now and the used market has responded. Just like with cars:confused:

The hydraulic tank is the "axle", right? No cap on the fill tube, wonder what goodies could be inside...?

Only thing I could think of was that they are otherwise unavailable. They're just waiting for the right sucker.

Maybe I should sell mine? I paid around $800 around 30 years ago but might get $2500 for it now...

I thought the same, I gave 7 and could probably get twice that. Imagine, the splitter paid me to use it all these years, .

I wouldn’t they don’t make them like that anymore. The supposed USA made brave I bought a couple years ago is proof of that. Bad paint check. Plastic return line elbows check. SMH :picard:that splitter is going down the road soon.
