Then took pictures of a few that are good to go if and when I get to them. Mind you these are just a very small sampling of the trees that lost their tops or fell over in the October storm. I need to pull a few tops down before cutting the trunks on a few. Also a few pictures of dead standing red oaks .

A lot of work ahead of you. Please stay safe. Should have plenty of firewood for years to come.

I cut the tops off and any large branches then pull them out to my trails with the tractor and winch to cut nice and easy in the open.

I pull most of them down with the tractor and winch so as to not get killed.
Made up this little slingshot with a tennis ball and string to get my rope up on to the window makers. Works great.

I cut any branches and tops off then pull them out to my trails with the tractor and winch. Makes cutting much easier and safe.

Pretty nifty there! Should any squirrels in the immediate area have reason to run?
