This is the anniversary of Tony's, my cousin's husband, chainsaw accident. This was his post this morning. He lost an eye and has a prosthetic cheek bone now. Assess the situation If something isn't working correctly. Assess the situation. I have kept this saw, and I varnish it once a year. It serves as a reminder to me. The accident that I went through was horrific and now I can say it also serves as a learning and teaching lesson to countless friends and work acquaintances who take chainsaws (and other things) a bit more seriously now. Learn from others mistakes and everyone have a safe day. And yes I still use a chainsaw any chance I get.
I "liked" this post for the fact that we all take dangers for granted......it's good to have a job briefing EVERY TIME we put a chainsaw in our hands, especially if we are by ourselves. Glad to hear your cousins husband didn't end up much worse. I've had my share of "boo-boos" over rrhe years involving saws, one was pretty bad but I learned quick to respect these very dangerous tools.
Being new, I don't know what happened here but me thinks I might get a face shield now. Others may not but I likes ma face as is.
