Not much more relaxing than getting on the saw in the woods.

Well boys, Karl made one post to start this thread and then went on about his day. We've since run the thread up to 3 pages long with no end in sight and without Karl... Me thinks that firewood may not be the only addiction shared round these parts...

I'm here. There are just so many responses I don't know where to start replying and I don't want to insult anyone by not replying to their comment. I figure when in doubt go out to the wood pile to think about it.

Oh Karl......:picard:. You see, there's just one little problem with that statement, compared to what we're describing. Your statement says "the", one, singular... Some time from now, you will look around at your collection of saws (see that "s" there?) and a various cornucopia of firewood equipment, and you will be like "Ah....they got me!". And then you will understand what we mean....

And I don't think anyone will be insulted if you don't get to respond directly to their comment! Especially if you say you were out cutting, or splitting, or stacking, or admiring your glorious stacks, or buying a new saw....they'll be like awesome, now show us the pics! :dex:

All kidding aside. This is a GREAT forum. I dont do any social media other than here. Too much drama and BS on the others. Some awesome folks here. Ive met several in person and made some great friends too! One thing Karl is we like pictures of what youre working on, saws, splitters, stacks etc.

I don't think anyone expects a direct comment to each and every post...I know I sure don't! My policy is when I start a thread I read and "like" all the posts, just as an acknowledgment that I read and appreciate their post. I only quote/comment on the ones that "need" it  :D

Karl, did I miss what equipment you have? Said you got a new saw, but I don't see what you got, and yes, I am a snoop.

Only thing to be careful of is splitting too much. If you split too many years ahead, your lady might not have a use for you.

Yea, a few years ago I had the silly thought about going back to school again. I had little time to get the classwork done, let alone css wood. If it were not for the fact that I had 3 years' worth of wood on hand I would have definitely run out. My kids also joke that if dad keels over, mom can stay warm for a couple of years!

    I have a stihl ms 1
I have a stihl ms180 and the new to me saw is a ms311. I have a new holland tc40 tractor for skidding and a northern tools splitter that I believe is a 27 ton. The 311 I just got a couple weeks ago and it's great.
