What brand upper and lower? Get yourself some good mags for it and a brace. That's a mil spec buffer tube, right? X39's are finicky with the mags, but there's plenty of good options now.
Yes, mil spec buffer tube. Was doing some reading on the mags and it sounds like the newer one are much better. Definitely going to get a brace for it, Gotta decide what I want to do for a optic on it also.
What are you going to use it for, aside from an inexpensive way to send lead downrange? That answer will help you decide on an optic. I use ASC mags on my x39 build. They work perfectly. C products mags with week also. There's at least 1 more brand that works well
Congrats !! Pretty good price. Ear plugs and muffs are mandatory with these little flame throwers, you'll see why. After you shoot it a bit, you'll probably want a KAK flash can to replace the birdcage. Easy to do yourself. I have caught a couple good deals there. I like to peruse the traditional auction sites such as Proxibid and Hibid for older gins being auctioned. Bauer Auction in Matoon, IL has an annual New Year’s Day gun auction. I bid on several handguns knowing their values. Those things sold for waaaay over the top. Like nearly double for things like S&W .22 revolvers. Even non-defense guns are selling like mad. I was hopeful the virus would drive the collectible side down. Good thing is, I bough while it was good, and the investment is working out. I have a large locking co trainer filled with handguns I got the past six years.
Besides a fun range gun It will probably find a spot in the truck to ride around as a quick grab predator rifle.

Yes, I'm not a fan of the bird cage on my 16" ar47. There's a good number of options that will send the noise away from you. As the barrel shrinks, the loudness gets louder. I still use hearing protection all the time though.
The noise is a given, it's the concussion force you experience from these short barrels that get me. I love 'em , love the portability and handling, but... that blast... I do what I can to minimize that. I only have one shorty in X39 (10.5") on a different platform, but the booster I put on it made a huge difference. Similar design to the KAK as far as blast direction is concerned. I have KAK's on 6 of my shorties, and one on a new build I'm not done with, yet. And- if a KAK is chosen, they have two diameters. Make sure you can slide the forend over the can, 'cause you'll play hell trying to install it if it's too big. Guessing, but the "slim" can will work fine. less than 1.250 diam.
This will be my first AR, I have shot a 5.56 and my brothers Ar-10 .308. never shot a short one. My LGS will be sending over a copy of there FFL on Monday, the guy that deals with that is out tell Monday for covid. So should be getting it end of next week hopefully. What mags do you like for yours?
Here's the other mags that supposedly work well with ar-47's. UNIMAG Gen II - CLEARANCE Price is right. I just haven't tried them yet. Word is they work great on x39 ar-15's
My BCA side charging ar47 works great with the ASC 28 or 30 Rd mags, but some guys swear only by c products mags for these. Those unimags will work for 5.56, 6.8, 7.62x39, 5.45x39, 224 Valkyrie, 458 socom and 450 bushmaster. Between my buddy and I we could test pretty much all but the 458 socom. The 224 Valkyrie is a necked down 6.8 SPC. My 6.8spc is a mini14, but I could at least load rds in the mag. No 458 socom but we've got Ar's in 556, x39, and 450bm.
For muzzle blast reduction try out a Midwest Industries blast can. Around $30 and helps quite a bit. Its noticeably quieter. Made of aluminum so it adds very little weight, too. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk

What are Y'all running for scopes on yours? Not sure if I want to go with a normal scope or was also looking at something like a Vortex strike fire
I have never spent more than 60 bucks on a scope so I'm not an expert. They say you should spend a little more than your rifle if you intend to make it your most used one. At least try a few and see what works best for your eyes and sometimes a budget one will do. Sometimes not. You get what you pay for. I've been wondering about a gun in this caliber because of how cheap the ammo used to be but I never bought any since I didn't have one yet. Bummer. Good luck on your set up.
