If your going to have bad luck, have the best bad luck you can have. There was a lot of good luck in that bit of bad luck... different time, place, weather.. and the pilot would have been a goner.
I have seen the ups and downs with police, but I will say that the vast majority of them are respectable and honorable public servants. Without them, you would be robbed blind, or worse. They put their life on the line for us every time they go to work. I think it helps to let them know you appreciate them. Just thank them for their service when you happen to see them out and about.
I will never understand the thinking of any person or group of people that do not support all of our public servants be they police, fire, EMS, or other. We live in the best country in the world and survive by the great work of those that framed our constitution. Law and order applied fairly and without prejudice. It is that simple. Not sorry about this little rant either.
