Hahahahaha. True True. But I do have a large impact wrench I bought just to get the blades off my zero turn gathering dust. They are very expensive contraptions. Wouldn’t mind tinkering with a home build.
Fancy. I'd be tempted to build one but I don't drop trees often enough to where it would be advantageous to have one.
Very expensive. The big model cost as much as a pro saw Germans charge big money for their engineering I guess. Maybe I could get my bar back LOL
Neither do I. And when I do they’re usually already leaning. I use wedges more on felled trees than standing. Does make me wonder how much it would cost for 3 phase in the basement
I could have used that on one of my last falls. It was slightly leaning the opposite way I wanted it to go so I ended up beating the snot out of 4 wedges to get to moving. That tool would have made it easy!
Yeah I can see the utility for mountain loggers that may need to drop all trees uphill when they all lean downhill. It would shine in that scenario. I have a handful of big oaks that need to come down. (Medium/puny to you) Most of em have a decided lean to them already tho and they’re in the woods.
Funny pic, that would make terrific yard art for someone. How much does that jack cost, that is awesome! Just curious. But it really is a great idea. EDIT: Found it, 785 Euros and 1245 euros with a Milwaukee impact wrench. I guess that symbol I saw is Euros. So, 1245 Euros is $1400.
Yeah that’s about right. Not easy finding exact prices on it is it? Found that model for 640 euro,,,about $730 American. Just the wedge. Pricey. I see some on Etsy in the $330-360 range. A machinist should be able to whip one of those up pretty easy. I wonder if two large felling wedges could be epoxied and screwed onto a steel plate and hold up? Bet it could. Most of the force is squish anyway. The hammer end would need to take the brunt. That’s engineerable. The rest is just mechanical and shaping. Like I don’t have enough to do
