She's bought hundreds of dollars worth of dog beds but they'll only
    Sleep on her patio furniture.

This is Karl, my 17 month old German Shepard. He like helping me with firewood, and by helping I mean dropping random pieces everywhere but the pile

She looks happy, sitting there and supervising!

Karl is turning out to be a wonderful companion. He is excellent with my two sons and good around other dogs as well. Definitely full of personality as well.

The dogs look great. How is Oliver! doing? He's not a young dog anymore. Nice porch too.

they’re all healthy, Oliver! is definitely slowing down, almost 12. I was watching your camping adventure thread, something Mrs DG and I would like to do, a bit daunting to take the hounds along though.

We found out that with three dogs there were limits on how many dogs were allowed in some private campgrounds. Two was usually the limit. Four would be a bit of a handful and kind of intimidating to some people. Our government campsites don't usually have limits on pets. When we had the sailboat we had a family member who would dog sit for us. We missed the dogs though while we were gone.

Is Oliver! the oldest dog? Bailey must be getting on in years as well.

Yes he will be 12 soon, Bailey is 10, the brothers will be 8. My biggest concern traveling with them would be finding a place to get them adequate activity, esp the boys and sourcing Vet care on the road.

yes, finding a vet can be a concern. Fortunately the one time we really needed a vet, we were visiting the breeder that we bought Shadow and Rascal from and she had a great vet to recommend. Shadow doesn't need a lot of extra activity fortunately so a walk after dinner works for her and us. She gets her exercise going ballistic in the vehicle every time she sees a dog outside on the street.

Everyone has a different favored method of staying warm:

Rainey likes to hang out in the cage (it is always open), which is directly in the airstream of the P43. She will also lay on top of the cage where the towel is, or in the cat tree beside the cage.

Rita likes to lay on top of my legs when I am on the couch.

Spot uses several strategies; she will lay on the P43 (pictured) or the P61a once they are most of the way thru the shut down cycle. She has it figured out very well that once the fan goes to low, it is cool enough for her to get on.

But, when the stoves are too hot, or not warm, she lays on this box. It is in the corner of the basement that is opposite the airstream of the P61a, so is nice and warm - and a good hidey place.

That is a nice looking dog. You have to wonder how a dog like that ends up as a rescue. We have a rescue dog now. Got him after our loss of my dear Molly. I haven't allowed him off his lead. I have a 30 ft one I take him outside on. He runs back and forth. Loves to jump in the snow. Very tall, gentle dog. We are really fortunate to have him.

Looks like I raised this pup right. Snow drifts collapsed 3 of 4 fences in our yard and kept growing in height anyway, the 4th is wood and is several feet lower than the 12' drift next to it so she free access to run away via walking over the drifts. I don't let her out for more than a few minutes at a time and she comes back every single time after bathroom breaks. Disappears behind the long drift to the west and comes back when I call her from the east drift  :rofl:

Good girl! Only problem is Horkn, she usually gets her zoomies out by doing laps across the yard intermittent with laps around the trampoline and all of it's under giant drifts now.
