That's actually another good idea! Except it's not handheld, it's too big. Hmmm... cordless spin scrubber? Now you got me thinking of a cordless drill attachment gizmo.

I think some of them are pretty small/light...the gas powered ones are definitely too big (unless someone makes one that goes on one of those weedeater power unit/multi tool things?)

First time I can recall cutting dirty logs was four decades ago. Hard watching the chain constantly getting dulled prematurely in order to save a few bucks.

There are any number of ways to clean the log pre-processing but why? This is the part where you pick the ones you want and then walk away from the rest. Clean wood does grow on trees! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Never liked it and never will; probably best to avoid the aggravation.

Insanity is sharpening the saw just to fire it back up and knock the edge off in grubby logs again.

I’ll try to pick the bark off with the log rite, brush on it with a gloved hand, roll log to a clean side, scrape out furrows with a stick or log rite, or just say f it, I’m going to have to file the chain again.

Yup, can't agree more. 404 has way more meat in the cutters than 3/8ths.

Plunge cut as has been mentioned before.

I always carried 4 ready to go saws in order to get a heaping load to the top of the 8' box. Now I can cut the same amount with one saw without sharpening. I have two saws set up with 24" hardnosed bars.

If you are cutting a lot it is not practical to duck around with it, just have big saw and get after it.
