Yes, warm weather. In fact we have had only a handful of nights below 20with our lowest being 12. But we are not alone on that. Then when you consider less than 150 miles from us they have received over 6' of snow but very little on the ground because it keeps melting. It is snowing now but not very much size to the snowflakes so I don't expect it will accumulate much at all.

Black and yellow birch on duty tonight. 39 here with some more mixed precipitation forecasted. Only supposed to drop to about 34 by tomorrow morning. I’m just about out of kindling already. :headbang: I’ll have to make more tomorrow to refill the wooden crate out on the deck. Good thing I have plenty of dry white pine on hand that I can splinter with the hatchet.

Just got back to the house after a few days away. Way 70f inside and upper 60s outside. No heat since I left Sunday. Loaded up the stove with some oak to take the chill off the house and for the evening. A few good splits and some other junk oak, part punky and softer wood. Save on the primo oak for the colder temps.

Oh wow, we are sitting at about -6 below, but our wind chills tonight are going to be -30 - -40 below, depending on wind speed.

    Oh, wow ,are we cold

A quick edit, I forgot to mention that all of our cottonwood has been burned and now we are on my elm and ash stacks.

Hmmm.....I should make an update video with the rows that are gone

Told a neighbor I was the person who honked his horn as I drove past. Saw he and his wife were sitting on their porch about midnight on a 35 degree night.

he said no, that was his daughter and her husband. They were visiting from Iowa enjoying the warm spell.

Oh, around 22 to 25 here now.
10 to 15 mph maybe higher breeze from the east . Snowing horizontally. At this point we have almost 8" on top of the ice layer from Sunday.
Plow truck broke down. ( Water in the fuel finally fully plugged the filter. )
Pickup broke down,( alternator went gunny bag)
Aspen and birch in the stove.
With this ice layer on/in the snow pack, the moose are hanging out on the roads and highways. We have lots of moose around here.
I hope the guys trapping wolves can get their sets dug out and reset. Or we won't have any moose left.

5F/69F this AM. We actually had a shot of snow as of yesterday AM. Red Oak is doing the job nicely.

That's a bad week. Damp weather is just not good for equipment. Hope you can get stuff back up and running soon.

We got around 4 inches of snow yesterday and temps this morning made it to just below zero but now it is on the rise. Gotta fire up the snow blower soon.

Currently 43 heading to 54. I just can't burn slow enough to keep it below 75 inside. Unfortunately I don’t have any shoulder season wood.

I chuckle when someone here says 0. When we say that up here its quite warm but for you thats actually -17c which is Chilly!
We are -29c/-20f under clear skies. I loaded the stove late last night so still waiting for the coals to burn down for my reload. We get these cold temps here but its not our normal. Im looking forward to it warming up a bit.
