Real inventory problem, doesn’t bode well for long term economy.

My dad put in an order on a Maverick and a couple weeks later Ford called and let him know the order is cancelled for 2022...maybe in 2023 he can reserve one.

Lotta that happening here too, problem is what then? Even bicycles are outrageous in price. My advice to my customers is if you've got a reliable runner, keep it.

If you have it signed and in writing by the dealer, you'll be fine. Actually, only unless the dealer is a D bag will you have any issues expecting to pay sticker. I remember that you ordered one early in the announcement of the Maverick. Heck I saw new mavericks on the haulers out west in September. Before anyone even took delivery, and right about when they did the press tour for them. Then everyone wanted one, partially due to the cost, and what you get for so little, comparitively. Then more drove the test vehicles and wanted them even more. For many, it's all the pickup they need. Add that the hybrid gets 40 mpg, and it's actually a nice product, cemented some dealers to do BS mark ups.

I'd check with your dealer to verify otd pricing, and also to make sure that nobody but you drives it. With the demand there is for them, they might let others test drive your vehicle that you ordered, and even worse, they could try to sell it out from under you. Some bad dealers are holding ordered vehicles essentially for ransom unless you pay their ADM markups.

Mine resets the mpg every time you fill up the tank. With 95%+ of my miles being electric the mpg per tank is crazy. Mine doesn’t have a heat pump or resistive heat, it uses the typical ICE setup for heat, it’ll idle the engine for heat in electric mode which adds a little charge to the HVB at the same time.

I also have the PHEV Ioniq.
Previously I was never much of a car guy- I always liked trucks better I just couldn't afford one. But man- As much as I wanted to buy an American truck, I really couldn't pass it up.
I'm hoping to get the Ford Lightning Truck if a trade in is possible.

Ditto, waiting for Ford to open up new orders, easier to justify commuting in an electric pickup, I'm also looking hard at the new Ioniq5 and maybe getting a beater gas truck just for "truck stuff".

When a cream cheese factory is worried about a cyber attack because of everything being "digital" we have the government telling us to trust all our hard earned money being "digital"?

    Hard pass....

I remember similar BS going on back in 2004 when the new Mustangs were released. Couldn't buy one for less than $10k over sticker, and that was for plain-jane GT's at mid-trim. I bought my '05 GMC Canyon instead (a financial mistake but a great little truck). When I went to the local dealer to see the new Mustang for myself, the guy buying it was there. He was trading in a Terminator Cobra (2004), Convertible, Sonic Blue with black racing stripes.... for a freakin' GT 5.0 auto-tragic coupe in Burgundy. I have a feeling he was looking to flip/scalp it quickly rather than keep/enjoy it, but I still kick myself for not making an offer on the Cobra on-the-spot.

And I was well aware of that 390HP rating being 100% fertilizer. They laid 500+ to the wheels with nothing more than bolt-ons.

They sounded glorious doing 1/4 mile pulls on a Mustang Dyno, standing 6ft from those tailpipes or even sitting in the trunk with three buddies to keep it from spinning on the dyno. :wacky:

Interiors still sucked though.:rofl:

Yep, parts a problem for some things. I busted the case on my 462 last spring or early summer and still have a new half case on order from my dealer to fix the saw. I am glad I have other saws but the 462 was about my favorite. New parts from Stihl are hard to get, it seems.

This is even worse, because all of the cases like this with the bronco that I've seen, were reservations placed in the limited reservation process with a $ deposit. These same people, once allowed, configured their reservation exactly how they wanted it, and then had to wait, almost a year in total, for their bronco too arrive at the dealership. These dealerships that have broncos one the floor, were someone's reserved bronco, that they waited to get, then had to pass on actually buying it for whatever reason, and the majority of those reasons were the same one... Dealership greed, and many cases having a signed agreement from the dealership what the actual price would be. Yes, that last step is crucial, but some assumed that being a limited reservation holder in the initial release would allow them to buy it at that MSRP, no more. When the CEO of Ford is stepping in in some cases to rectify these, it's a huge problem.

After 9/11 a couple local gas stations jumped on the price gouging bandwagon...the one station that was owned by a local individual that everybody knew really caught peoples ire after that...he sold the place a couple years ago and I think there are still some people that won't go there anymore! I'd say in the long run his greed ended up loosing him money...I work with a guy that used to be a mechanic at this station, he said the old owner would seldom even cut employees a break! (it was a full service station with shop and towing service)

I just priced a new equipment shed...30x45 with one open side for the sawmill. No doors, windows, dirt floors. Just basic cold dry storage. $11K just for materials. Steel is $145 per square now. I don't think I can stomach that.

Consider block? I was able to buy block for $1 each at Menards here recently...same price they have had for a few years now (it was a sale though)
If you can find a reasonable mason then that might get you some walls without breaking the bank...so then its just rafters and a roof...which wood is back down to this planet at least...and shingles are up about 33%...but this might be a lot cheaper than what you just had quoted?

Yep, I was gonna do a 40 X 80 similar building for tractor & truck storage. Took out the trees, pushed the dirt around, builder couldn't get to it right away, couldn't find another contractor I trusted so it got put on hold. It's a log yard now, there's no way I'll pay nearly 4X what it was gonna cost.
