I have a coupla questions for the resident gurus here.. The saw is very easy to start cold and restart warm, but here lately a few times ill cut it off then try to restart and nuthin..so i do the procedure for a flood..and presto it starts 1 pull..strange..i didnt think mtronics could really "flood"..but plugs wet.i clear combustion chamber and presto..its fine..mind you its only happend 3 or 4 times in 12 tanks or so The other issue is after a warm start it seems to load up to the point of stalling when i give it throttle..this issue has only happened a few times....its still under warranty i could take it back to the dealer but i feel like hes not gonna put the time in to try to duplicate the problem like take it out and cut with it..not super big issues just annoying...
The m-tronic saws are just a tad different than the others in that you can start them in the lowest switch position, hot or cold. What are you doing to clear the flooded engine? Are you opening the throttle and cranking the engine or removing the plug? This is the first incident I've heard of for an M-tronic starting issue. I have however flooded an AutoTune more than once by goofing up the warm start procedure.
For the record i always start the saw in the start position....95% of the time its great...jusy those few times..when the saw does not start when warm i remove the plug dry off clear the chamber install plug and it starts right up....
No sir...only know how to recalibrate idle....havent done it yet...sometimes it seems to be a little fast....chain turns during idle..
Thanks guys i know its hard to diagnose a prob with these new saws.....i feel like sometimes its getting too much fuel....
Old habits die hard so for a hot/warm start on either of my C-Ms, I just flick the switch to run and pull. Haven't had a lick of trouble doing that.
It seems like 95% of the time i just flip the switch dwn pull one time it fires...just that 5% where i gotta treat it like i flooded it...like i said sometimes i feel like it loads up fer some reason...idk why...im a stickler fer runnin good mix 93 octane bout 44:1..that has been its diet from day 1....just a pia thats all...
I would try and do the recalibrate. Maybe that will help? I haven't read the manual in awhile, and the process has slipped my mind (leave in start? And let idle for "X" minutes??) Hope you can figure it out. The 441 is a very nice saw. I have yet to have a problem with any of them as well.
On a "warm" start, if I've sat the saw down for less than 5 minutes, I'll just pull the rope and not mess with the switch setting. I haven't managed to flood mine yet. I wonder if you have an intermittent spark issue rather than a fuel issue?
I had some issues. Wife still thinks I have plenty of issues. Sometimes I have to let it take a break when I'm noodling for long periods as it won't restart. I had a muffler glowing red once. I don't have issues starting it unless it gets too warm.
