I lit a fire in my back up stove last night & nearly heated myself out! Got down to 28 & up to 34 now. Boiler water temp was high from idling too long. It used nothing overnight. Snow will likely be gone today or tomorrow and nothing really expected before Christmas. I can't remember the last white Christmas we had. We haven't had real winter here in over a decade. Glad the dog's home safe Horkn !
30, breezy and partly cloudy. Supposed to drop to 19 by dawn. Black locust and red oak working the afternoon shift.
glad you were able to find him! My dumbass is about 70lbs, and I have to use the thickest wire rope tie outs for dogs that are like three times his size.
It has been absurdly warm this year. I'm sitting in a 79 degree living room, burning oak. I've burned less than 1/3 cord so far this year.
Lol. I'm youngish but far from that. Hayden will be 2 at the end of March. So yeah. Teenager. Hopefully after he gets snipped in Spring he'll be a little less hard headed.
It's been pretty warm here too. 82° sweating in the living room watching football. Burning ash, 30° outside
Lol. Yes, I recall we've met. I like to respect my elders and I'll definitely add that we all can learn something from everyone. I'll need to try the borecut trick you told me about the other day as well as felling up higher on the trunk
Last I checked it was +10°F Mix of white spruce , not totally dry, pretty dry aspen and some seasoned but not dry birch in the stove. Closed down for the night.
Mine get 6" cow bells. I've got to get more fencing up to keep my small pack contained this coming spring .
It got down to 18 this morning, and I can't remember a time when I was happier to see the thermometer drop into the teens for the first time in a season Red oak and black locust once again keeping the family warm.
