I asked Santa for the tsumura bar in hopes that I would stop looking at the echo 7310. I don't need another saw, and if I keep repeating that mantra I should be alright. The 362c is ported and is an absolute hoot to run, I almost never encounter 24"+ wood. If I buy another saw ill have to port that too.

New to me 357xp that I just finished porting. I'm hoping to start it up tomorrow morning. Looks beat up, but all freshened up on the inside.

I'll put a nice square file sharpening on this and get it in some wood by the end of the weekend to see how it runs.

JYD! When I bought mine, it took a couple tanks then it suddenly felt like someone cranked up the boost. Not sure if you've ever seen the mod thread but the 3 series oil pumps can be made to flow much more oil. I was getting about 1/2 tank of oil to a tank of gas with it adjusted to full. After mods, I have about 1/8 tank left.

No, I haven't seen that thread before as I've mostly focused on Stihl saws prior to this adventure. I have modified the oiler on my MS362 since I occasionally throw a 32" bar on it and it's oiler was pretty anemic from the factory. Thanks for the heads up and I will keep an eye on the oiler to ensure I'm comfy with it as well. I had fun building this saw so far and I'll want to ensure all aspects of it are "tuned" in well including the chain and oiling. I had heard that this saw was a factory hot rod and since it's a non strato I hunted one down to port.

I haven't started it yet, but I have pulled the cord without using the de-comp just to see how much compression is there. With the compression it has, I'm gonna need the "little blue button pill" to get it started with these old geezer arthritic hands!!! I can't wait to get it broken in and cutting some wood with it.

Projects like this are fun for me, kinda like measuring the parameters of a nice 12" driver and building a tuned cabinet for a nice sub-woofer with some pedal kick punch and solid bass runs right down to low E.

Yes, I've built several systems over the years and played with different style enclosures. Lots of satisfaction when I can get a home made box to knock the sox off of a system from the stereo boutique that cost's thousands... I even built some bi-amped systems so not to have to deal with large air core coils (hand wound of course) and caps.

LOL Ahhh, memories from the younger days drooling over new stereo equipment at the PX... And hours in the basement shop dreaming up, building, and testing cool fun stuff. I can only imagine how much better it would have been back then if I would have had the internet, although magazines filled in pretty well back in the day... LOL Priorities turned to family and kids (as it should).
