Is that the RV works fryer? I just got the bayou classic 4.5 gallon and it’s the exact same design, probably a blatant rip off but hey. The oil stays so much cooler below the heating tube which I guess is why they make the claims of oil lasting longer than other designs. I have some canola blend oil in it now because that’s what I had on hand. I do want to get peanut oil in there but it’s 60 bucks for 35 pounds these days which is nuts. How often do you filter? And 40-50 uses is crazy, food still taste fine and doesn’t get too dark? I gotta grab a filter and strainer like that, restaurant depot? The bayou already has the slots so the kids fits tight, surprised RV didn’t do that form the get go.
yes its a 2.5 gallon RV works very well built(except for the slot for the basket handle)this is the first time i ever filtered simply because i already had the oil out....the last batch of oil i had 45+ frys on it when i drained it and it still was pretty clear and smelled good....the crumbs and food particles go to the bottom and never get burnt so the oil stays nice....i consider a "fry" every time i put food in the basket,so last nites cook was 4 "frys". the stainless funnel i got at lowes...it was with the turkey fryer stuff the white thing is just a paint strainer. im really impressed on how little fuel it uses some thing to be aware of....if you rinse the tank out remove the thermometer first...some how moisture will find its way in and fog up the glass.
Wife left me and the 3 year old home tonight. Ask what he would like for dinner, he says “whole lotta rice daddy”. No problem… 5 pounds enough?
