Yep, that's cold! I've never experienced anything below -20, but I can imagine it sort of. Here, it was 48 above & sunny. Some random "stuff" in the boiler.
I think maybe I'm getting some heat drift from the generator exuast affecting my thermometer. I'm going to move it farther away . Another neighbor texted me said it held -50 almost all day at her house. And she is only about 350 yards away thru the woods.
Darn that's cold. That's -45c! I've been in my area since 98 and only a small hand full of times has it gone below -40c/-40f now in the -30s range is a different story. Its -5c/23f right now. The stove hasnt been lit today out of laziness but I'm tired of hearing the furnace so its time to get a fire going.
That's a 100F temp difference between our locales. No wonder I thought it felt like tee shirt weather here.
20 out right now, last 2 days I only filled the OWB once a day, I just filled it up for the night with a mix of basswood, maple and oak
29 out, didn't add any wood this morning, still working on the basswood maple and oak mix from last night

41 and I’m burning like it’s 21. At least later tonight it’ll get below freezing again, finally. Burning a mix of white, red and chestnut oak.
Currently 42°f looking at a low in the high teens. High wind warning and a possible 2 inches of snow by morning with the weather passing though. Prescott, AZ Weather Conditions | Weather Underground (wunderground.com)
45F & rising overnight, 60's tomorrow & early Thursday. Not quite sure what I put in the boiler, but it wasn't primo firewood lol.
It's still 63 degrees out here, got the room up to 91, turning the fan on only circulated hot air, had to open the doors. Burning oak and other unidentified wood off the pile.
Last I checked it was 38 below ambient . Winds calm . Burning seasoned and pretty dry aspen and birch.
32 this morning and looks like that is as cold as it gets for the remainder of December. Burning oak and the house is too warm for a long sleeve shirt.
