Good morning yall. Hope y'all have a FABULOUS FRIDAY. 50° this morning, heading up to mid 60's, looks like rain moving in about daylight. Had plans to go cut 3 trees for a friend, might have to back up and punt. If it does, I can go sign a liability waiver and get access to clean up some logging yards...

Good morning everyone! I've been splitting birch. Most of it is really short, so it's becoming kindling or chunks. I'll do some more today, before our rainy Saturday.
Next week, when it's warm, I need to get up on the roof and sweep off big gobs of pine needles that collect up there. Always a fun time.
Christmas dinner will be at my brother's and SIL's house. She always wants to roast a goose, and they are always tough, old, and scrawny. I think I talked them into a ham this year. HGy7Wmy.jpg
    Friday again!

Happy Friday! Foggy and 40F, schools closed. Weather doesn't look promising so I'll probably do some projects in the barn tonight. We're supposed to do something with friends tomorrow - I have no idea what. Looks to be good napping weather. Hopefully it will be decent on Sunday so I can get back to splitting. Hopefully I can get cutting on my log inventory next week. Have a God day!

Morning All. Just above freezing with the threat of snow or rain depending where you are. Not working at the school today but at the church getting our children Sabbath School packages together. Trying to get two weeks done as I will be really busy next week. We got tickets to our daughter's Christmas concert on Dec 19. It will be a bit of traveling but it should be a great night. She is in a choir and we have really enjoyed the concerts in the past.

    Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon all. We hi 45* today. Much better. Tomorrow it is supposed to get upper 50s but rain is forecasted for all day.
When you head up to the roof, take a leaf blower like Dan did at Dennis Molly.
    Woodwidow, enjoy your concert.
    Have a great day all.

Mike I had one of the first years CDW small stoves, I think bought it in 1985, It was a great stove for about 20+ years. Back then, it as also convertible to a coal stove, and I burned some coal sometimes when I was low on wood. It put put great heat for a lot of years.

That is almost here. It is an amazing 56 degrees here but expecting falling temps. Around 50 miles NW and N of us it is 20 degrees lower so I'd say our temp will be falling really soon. They are still saying our wind could gust to 60 mph and I pray they are wrong again.

Yesterday I bought a bed so now we'll have a spare bedroom. In afternoon I cut a little more wood. Would like to be outside enjoying the warmth and cutting wood but when that wind comes up I'll be indoors.

We had the same stove back then. Divided front doors, with thin glass windows, side loader, ash tray? We had the small one.

Good morning everyone! We don't get to 60° until after dark, along with rain. I'm hoping for some useable hours this afternoon to do outside stuff. Besides that, I'll be dragging myself through the water, as usual.
It's a funny reality we live in. There are so many uncertainties, but we just putter along. Ir0a0xM.jpeg
Enjoy your day. Hope none of you get a tornado.

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have a SUPER SATURDAY. It was really foggy last night. Went to the town about 20 miles from us, had to drive about 40 MPH...the deer stayed on the side of the road. Plans are to get the trees this morning and go hunting this afternoon. 64° right now. Maybe the severe weather will stay away again.
    Be encouraging, share a smile...

Morning All. Just above freezing. We got lots of rain yesterday - no snow. It was a dark day all day. I don't know what to expect for today.

Throughout Dec. the children's story is the Christmas story. God our creator, comes down as a baby to save us from our sins. An incredible story.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

    Happy Sabbath, everyone

I think we could say the cold front has moved through. In the last hour and a half it has dropped12 degrees. Well, even more as now they are reporting 43 degrees, so another 4 degrees drop in 1/2 hour.
