I need to replace a few of my chains that have reached the end of their ability to be sharpened. Most are easy to find on the Oregon site but I'm having trouble with one of mine. My battery Husky T540i came with a 14" bar and a .325" mini .043" gauge chains. The are green semi chisel low kickback chains and Husky is pretty proud of them based on their price. I'd like to find an alternative and if possible, have that alternative be a pro chain. I can't seem to find that setup anywhere. The OE chain was part number 596 55 33‑59. I'd be willing to change the bar and sprocket if need be but it would be nice to just find a chain that would work as is. Maybe JB Sawman or huskihl might have an idea for me? Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks!

I saw that one on their site Simon but wasn't sure about their disclaimer stating: Must be used in combination with an Oregon SpeedCut Nano guide bar and sprocket; not compatible with standard .325" pitch cutting systems I wonder if it would work with my stock bar and sprocket? The price is right but it's still a green chain. I'm not sure if anyone makes a yellow in this combo...
I've not seen a pro chain in .043 gauge. I had to change the bar on our MS180 and the pole saw to .050 gauge 3/8 LP to get a pro chain.
That's what I was afraid of. Not the end of the world but worth doing for sure. I'll check with my shop about the sprocket I need too.

The bar that is on it now is a 14". I think I'll go down to a 12" 3/8LP X .050". I'll loose a little on going to a wider chain but hopefully gain some back with the shorter length. I have a 14" on my gas T540 so don't need two setup the same way anyways. Thanks for the ideas guys.
Sounds like a good idea. I think I read somewhere that Stihl makes a good full chisel 3/8” LP chain. I think the number and it might be 63 something.
I'll ask about that one too. I have the Oregon chains in my cart but I'll see what the dealer can do for me if I buy a bunch.
Howdy! I have that same saw, have a 16" bar on it. I bought... OEM Husqvarna T540iXP X-Cut 16" Chain, SP21G-64 dl, Pixel .325" Mini, .043". I wanted full chisel because that is what I use but was told that this nano bar/chain was designed for this battery saw. I dunno but it made sense at the time in that it does have different power characteristics from a gas saw and them wanting to get it right, I could buy into that. I probably wouldn't change unless I thought it was a pretty good bit better.
Not all that familiar with the smaller chains. I would make sure that there is a clutch drum/rim sprocket suitable to change it over from .325 to 3/8 picco. There is also a 3/8 .043 narrow kerf chain that may work as well. Be careful getting too heavily invested in it. That small chain is meant to be smooth and forgiving. 63 PS can be quite aggressive and chattery on a small lightweight saw
Kevin, I did some research and I think you're right. There are sprockets available but the computer than runs my battery saw was designed specifically around the .325 mini / .043. So, while I could change the bar/sprocket and go to a yellow chain, the increased feedback of all these changes would be setting off the safety limits in the saw more often and shutting it down more than need be. So, I'm going to stay with what I have. I am glad I started this thread and did some more research though as the Oregon Nano chain was an option I didn't previously know about. It's about the same price as the Husky chain but easy to order online so it saves me a 1.5 hour round trip to my dealer. I have one coming from loggerchain.net to try. I have yellow chains for my gas T540 when the need arises...

I just got to see your post the battery saws are designed for those chain combos I switched a makita saw over just to try with 91vxl oregon and it tended to be way to agressive in larger cuts I will get back to you sometime today with a price on the chain for your saw Husky has not gotten me the battery saws yet I am still waiting for them I will let you know what I can do for you JB
