The thermometer said -5° when I left the house this morning. On the windchill map I'm right between Jamestown and Devils Lake. Winter be here.
It's making it's way towards us for tonight....but we won't get down that low. They are now saying low single digits for us tonight. It's a bit breezy right now.

Fishing still is big there but with the drought we went through the last year the lake is down and I wasn't overly impressed with the bite the entire summer.
Devils Lake down Will miracles never cease? I have not ever heard of that lake going down. Surely it happens I suppose. Interesting. Guess I have not kept up with conditions there. Good luck fishing in the future.
Roughly down 6 feet from its high water mark from a couple years back. Don't get me wrong, the lake is still big but nothing like it once was. Fishing is OK but compared to the glory days it is down.
The locals were still moving uphill away from the rising lake when I was there last. Seems like we stayed on the north side at a smaller resort/lodge with a restaurant and strip motel. Decent joint. Fished the "golden hwy" on the west end almost exclusively after trying all over with little luck. No guide of course. Duh! We hammered the walleye and northern. Then the wind picked up for 2 days. That was the end! Rough. Wow.
