Got everything buttoned up today and the line is still leaking, cannot see the leak. I'm going to call a plumber Monday, I probably need a new line run. The line is only 7 years old but the owner cheaped out. This is going to be expensive.

I had some well work done this past summer also. It turned out to be almost 3 times higher than what I had originally anticipated (according to their "rough ball park" esitmates)

I think you shouold be able to use rolled abs pipe (1") for the run. Like brenndatomu had mentioned...why did they use 2" pvc in the first place?

Once you get it all done, you'll be set. Underground is no place to cheap out or cut corners trying to save money.

Now, when I did get the bill, I called the shop and asked if there was a way to get those charges knocked down a bit?

They said if I paid in cash...........not personal check, not cashiers check; just plain old fashioned cash :makeitrain"......the price would be reduced. Ended up saving quite a bit. It's worth a try, but wait until you get the bill first before you ask them about it. :handshake:

The house has a cistern that collects rainwater off the roof. The previous owner thought it would be difficult to sell with that setup so he hooked up to the water at the road.

The run is 1000 feet and 60 + feet uphill. I think he used 2" for adequate flow. I think he used pvc because it was the cheapest option. Also if it failed he would be long gone so why not?

Got the new saw out and cut up a bit more of the log pile. One tank of gas from start to finish.
My Huskee 35 ton ate yet another love joy coupling I sure thought shimming the pump back slightly would have fixed it. I got about 3 cords out of the last one total and figured I had it licked but nope. I’ve changed fluid and filter, and it had been running about 3 hours off and on today before quitting. I may have to change the pump. But it seems to work well when running.
Ended up splitting about a couple of wheelbarrows load by hand and it actually went quick with one hit splits for the most part.
Back in the shop, took the splitter apart, sharpened the 362s chain, and generally just screwed around till wife got home. Shop heater running the shop a little warm at 85 but that was my fault. I gave it a full load of the “good stuff” and it was cranking.

Been doing nothing but working the normal job and a small side job with my brother.

And fixing chit that breaks at house and property. UGH!

Oh well. Weather hasn’t been cooperating much for work on property lately anyway. Will be better when the ground freezes up. Then I can start retrieving firewood for next season while trimming back branches that are growing into the trails.

Yeah, it'd be nice to see an end to "mud season".

Don't think it ended this year.

Got a little cutting done. Found my husky needs a new clutch cover chair adjuster assembly. Stihl bogs down while halfway through a log. Air cleaner and spark arrestor clean. Time for a new spark plug
