I have recently been doing a lot of lifting and loading of huge Fir rounds onto my trailer. The winch and crane are a wonderful addition to the trailer but one flaw has cropped up. When loading those rounds, especially alone, I have found the stop and turn lights to be vulnerable to getting crushed by the swinging loads. Well I am a slow learner so it took me two broken rights and one left turn light. I finally decided to put some cans around the lights. The three wide load lights are guarded and have never been damaged. The lights are recessed about 3/4" in the can so it would take an extremely hard blow to deform the can enough to break the lens. The first picture is the old arrangement. Hope this solves the breakage!
That should definitely help and looks good too. Funny how it sometimes takes a few times before one actually does something to correct the problem. I'm certainly guilty of this.
That should work well. My trailer has the frame over the lights and I find myself either using them for a step or running into w/ my shins.
