The saw isn't stuck. The log rolled and pinched the bar. As soon as I rolled it back the saw was freed but the chain won't spin
Well, there are bar rail closers to pinch them shut after wear but in your case, probably need the groove re-ground.
Ah hah! Ok, its junk then...just sit it out by the curb, I'll swing by tomorrow to pick it up for disposal, no charge. How old is the bar? If its a decent bar I think I might try to open it back up by prying the chain out and then tapping a wedge...like a flat blade screwdriver of the proper size/shape down into the groove
If the bar groove has been pinched down so that the chain drivers no longer will fit then I use a screwdriver to open them up a little. Works fine.
2x on the screwdriver ^^^. I have used a large flat blade screwdriver before & it worked fine, it will just take some time to get everything back within specs.
x 3 on the screwdriver. That is the proper tool for the job ; isn't it. You know the tool that says " Never use as chisel or pry-bar "
NAH ! It’s got fire ,and sparks in it . Should hold my attention ,so that I learn something . Kinda like yelling SQUIRREL! to my Labradors ….
Where exactly is it pinched...the nose etc? Some bars have replaceable tips, but ive never done that. I get them pinched on occasion but never to the point of bending the groove. Mostly sawdust crushed to the point where the bar has to come off to free it up.
