Very nice loads! 24" splits of oak are a heavy beast, the last red oak I cut, I cut them all 24", even all split they were heavy.

I'm already regretting 2 loads. :BrianK: And James and I talked about maybe loading the other way. That would have me cutting @ 15". Hmmm.

If you get ahold of me ahead of time I could hook the splitter up to the Tacoma and we could turn that stuff into stackable splits before it goes in the truck. That's how I do it, then you can unload right onto the racks. No need to unload split and then pick it up again to stack. 20211121_135102.jpg Tows nice behind the tacoma. Disappears behind the f350 lol. Put some thought on it and let me know.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I had planned to take ramps to roll the 24's on the truck and trailer.

You said it! Thinking I won't do that again.

Aha... makes sense... although I was thinking somewhere along Middle Creek in my corner of the county. I guess I don't have the entire County memorized like I thought.

This thread isn’t going to die any time soon!! Today I cleaned up all the wood from trees I fell. In the back 40, I staged all wood for the Bobcat next time it comes out. Then I proceeded to the pile he made just off his driveway for a load. It all didn’t fit but I gave it the ol college try. Lol.

Couple years ago, when I started this post, a tree service came in and dropped some trees the landowner (Tony, my bike shop boss) was concerned about possibly hitting his house if they fell. He also had them mark other dead trees that could be dropped. Now that he has seen me fell a few, without incident, he will be letting me take them down. I snapped some pics for y’all to salivate over. :D

    Here’s #’s 1 & 2.

It’s a biggin. Standing dead for a while. Not marked but I’ll definitely see if he’ll let me harvest it. Lotta wood in that sucker!

And last but not least, this one is right beside the driveway where I got the load from today. It will fall on neighboring property but the landowner does not have a house on the lot. He’s going to reach out to him before I do it.

I’ve got a little chestnut oak in the stove right now as a matter of fact, and wish I had more! You’re making me want to go after some more soon...
