I understand completely. Ours had the pin-on bucket. We had a time trying to find the adapter plate for the 513 loader. Dealer told us 4 weeks wait, got email from HQ in GA, 6 months wait, since it was an older tractor. Another dealer had a used adapter plate from a 525 loader. He got our measurements and it fit, got a good deal on it too...$225...

I will do same eventually, right now it’s about $650 for me to do that. Hard to justify expense when there’s a 75 hp JD 3/4 mile down road I have keys too.. He’s a great friend and neighbor, and we talked about it it just didn’t make sense for us both too spend $$ on same implements 671F7F0F-7261-4C93-954E-595A04075DED.jpeg

Sometimes it’s just faster and easier to grab the tractor that’s implement on it that it is to go to watch them over.

Glad that works out for you. I have had help in the past from a neighbor. He stays busy working up hay nowadays. Plus the grapple makes it much safer for us when loading logs...

My grapple (it's very stout!) and 3rd function hydraulic kit finally showed up today. Looking forward to installing the hydro and getting the grapple out into the woods. I've got a ton of trees to harvest for firewood and lumber... after rifle deer season of course.

Where do you get those wire baskets and how much are they? How are you picking that up with the 3 pt?

The baskets are IBC totes. I’ve found a couple good deals on Craigslist. I did some trading on here with a member for 16 last winter. I’ve accumulated a little over 50 in 4 years. The most I paid was 20$ a piece. I built a set of 3 point pallet forks to carry the totes. There’s companies that build them but with shipping it was to much. My forks on my front end loader will pick the totes full of wood but it’s maxed out. I felt like I was being hard on my tractor so I went with 3 point forks.

Guess i need to keep my eyes open for those baskets, i would spend $40 each on them. Im tired of messing with skids. I agree thats alot of weight on the loader and really like what you came up with here. I may need to do something similar as my skids heaping is all my tractor wants in the hills down here.

Simple, cheap and effective, thanks for posting.

Edit, Did you weld all along the bottom on both sides there?

Kubota's seem popular on here, guess I joined the right forum.....

Neither of mine do wood stuff other than hauling limbs to the burn pile.

Both for farming and snow removal... and toting corn and pellets to the hoop barn.

I thought my wife was gonna kill me when I bought the open station M9 2 years ago. My first one (the cab tractor I bought new in 2004 and had to special order it, took 4 months to get because Kubota dropped the M9000 model in 2004 but I wanted it and I managed to get it but I had to take it completely optioned out. Full cab, air ride seat, Arctic package (block heater, never used it), special air intake, 2 speed pto 540-1000 (I use that) 3 sets of remotes with flow control, cast centers and a 12 speed hydraulic shuttle, but I wanted a square hood.

2 years ago I came across the open station on Tractor House and it wasn't that far away (300 miles), so I went and checked it out, was at a dealer on a trade for a green tractor. Took 20 grand cash with me and bartered it down to 16 plus they had to deliver it to the farm. I put 5500 in it but it's worth 30 (my dealer offered me 30 for it) because, like my cab tractor, they are pre emissions units and pre emissions tractors are in high demand today Least my wife calmed down when she found out what it was worth. Not loaded up like the cab tractor is, but just fine for running hay. In fact, all it does is pull the rake and pull my batwing chopper. The cab tractor pulls the disc mower and the round bailer.

2 is plenty and 2 will last me until I retire from haymaking. I need to quit buying new hay tools. Just bought a 45 grand round bailer 2 months ago. The open station will need new shoes this next year. New shoes will be around 5 grand. It will get radials this time round.

If you have a good battery and the glo plugs are working ok it should fire right up. I never plug mine in, no juice in the barn anyway. 10 seconds on the pre heat and a turn and they pop right off. I do run 5-40 Rotella T6 in both The open station has just under 6000 hours on it and the cab tractor, just over 3000 hours.

Filling in some low spots on a trail. The L3540 is running like a top!

I found some double ring tire chains for these exact rear tires on Craigslist. The gentleman I bought them from never put them on. $300. A good deal. New they are over $500 with taxes and shipping. Almost time for me to put them on and ad some weight to the three point hitch. The heavy clay is making the arse end light.
