Thanksgiving Eve firewood party

    The boys were busy up there today. Was pleasantly surprised they had a trailer full of Alder for me when I got to the landing. Made for a good day and was loaded heavy coming down the mountain.

    Nice work and nice video. Yes don’t know much about alder. Does it burn ok?

    Alder doesn’t burn as long as some other woods. It also has a tendency to soot up the chimney if it isn’t well seasoned.
    It also tends to rot faster than the Fir and Hemlock around here.
    Our weather here is fairly mild and I have a access to a good supply of wood so I don’t mind processing the extra wood required compared to some other species.
