I got another load of firewood moved from the wood shed to the patio. I put the tractor away in the dark. Good thing I have lights, except I never wired up the lights on the tractor after I swapped the engine. I didn't want to use the crap wiring that ariens had on the machine and used the wiring harness from the donor Magnum 18 equiped tractor.
This was in my yard. I watched it for several minutes outside, playing with my pup outside. Hayden had zero interest in it. That's a good thing as there's many deer around here. On the other side of the hedge row, is at least 1 doe. Full rut here. It was hard to get a good picture with the sun setting. Smallish 8 pt. I believe this is the same deer that was a fork last year that watched me split firewood last year. A week or so ago I noticed this, but never saw anything on my security cams. You can see below the buck rub, the ripped up grass. This was very close to my newly planted Kwanzan cherry tree, so I appreciate that he didn't use my new tree as a rub.
I'm guessing it will be left like it, and if someone twists their foot and falls.....who knows. I hope mom can get out of this place within a couple years. So I woke up before 1 AM, couldn't get back to sleep. Left hone about 3:30 and took a scenic route to town. At mom's now till I leave for work. I'm going to be very exhausted come 5 PM....
Saw a lot of bucks last night but also got wet. It rained so hard sometimes and the wind blew strong I could not have gotten a shot if one went in front of me. But overall I had a good sit in the woods.
The Manitoulin, an interesting great Lakes freighter that used to be a saltwater tanker. Strange to think these 2 photos are the same ship, albeit had extensive surgery.
Went for a ride to get gas for the mini truck and stopped off in the woods on the way to the station. Ended up with a truckload (mini) of ready to burn hardwood! Sweet! The day before, I built a workbench down in the basement for who knows whatever projects. I had some prefinished hardwood that I grabbed for a killer price a few years ago; I used that for the benchtop. Pics will follow, I promise!
