Ah makes sense. The bed moved would look better in my opinion, but the storage box would be functional. I understand the dilemma.
Moved some wood up to the patio finally today. Only 1 load because I ran out of daylight. Thanks daylight savings time Shoulder season wood and some uglies from the top of the stack. I stopped to take this pic of the box elder that kept it's red for well over a year. After taking that picture, I then filled up the trailer all the way and stacked the stackable stuff against my stack stop to keep wood off of the nearly new house siding.
Washed windows today. 60 degrees, was a nice sunny day. I really dislike washing windows. But when I replaced the kitchen faucet I found three bottles of Windex so one is now almost empty. 10-15 year old Windex still works pretty good. LOL. Normally I'd use a small bucket of warm water and vinegar and a squeegee and call it good, but couldn't find my squeegee so used paper towels. Such hardships. Edit: It was 70ºF at noon, not 60ºF. Almost beach weather with almost no wind until mid-afternoon and even that was fairly light and didn't last long.
This is the first autumn I've had here, it usually goes from summer to winter week. It's oddly warm, I still get an impaired house fly coming in while letting the dog in and out, in NOV! Since I've been here most Nov's are deep freeze and a bunch of snow drifts in the back. I'm soaking it in
The temp was about 10 degrees cooler yesterday. Had some business to attend to in the city then picked up some venison on the way home. Will be eating good for a while with some venison sticks.
I have a deep respect for Chaz's boss. For so many reasons. He just implemented a policy that all veterans in the shop get veterans day off with pay. So Chaz took a vacation day along with that and now has a 4 day weekend. Here's to you Chris. A great boss.
I really don't like the short daylight days. I have one of those happy lights prescribed for me. Helps, but not the same as the real thing. If you can get outside while the sun is strongest, that is the thing to do to avoid the blues brought on by short daylight days.
Woke up to a light rain here in Southern Vermont. But high 40s and got clearer and warmer over the day. Didn't get any wood stuff done today other than ordering the raw materials for my Secret Santa gift now that I know who it is. Big part of the day was breaking out and dusting off the TIG Inverter welder I bought last year new but 2nd hand. I can justify this post as Firewood related though. I've been looking at muffler mod threads and noticed that some nice work is done with a TIG welder modifying chainsaw mufflers out there by members. Then I remembered that I had one and I had ordered the tungsten, the flow gauge, and the rods, and picked up a bottle of argon the other day. The light hit me, "Hey I have everything I need to do TIG welding." So out to shop, drag all of it out and assemble everything and started practicing. No, you can't see pictures. As my wife says, it doesn't take much for me to head down a rabbit hole if it's even remotely related to firewood.
