Leave it and go no with life, what's the point in pursuing a probable headache. They obviously don't care, why should you? Sounds like way more potential issues than it's worth. If you wanna shoot video of cutting up big logs just bring your camera & saw. I've got 36" + stuff waiting for me in two counties. We can have a week long party & still not be done.

I couldn’t help myself. I stopped there today and was gonna leave a note. As I walked up to the door I heard a tractor in the backyard. I peeked over and saw two guys digging up some dirt with a Kubota BX with backhoe. I asked if one was the owner and he said yes he was. I asked about the tree and he said the other guy with him was actually going to be cutting it up. I said oh, ok. Then he says…if there’s any “bits” he can’t “get” can you leave your number. I said “sure” I wrote a note with pricing on it. It basically said $1,200-$1,500 and I’ll take the wood minus the stump which I’ll push off to the side of the yard. I gave it to him and he seemed appreciative. Who knows what will happen next. I hope the guy has a bigger machine than the Kubota and a huge saw to go with it. To be continued….

 .... Wow just saw this. Good Luck. But seeing the pictures and what you said, I'd be looking elsewhere. Unless you enjoy the uphill battle....

I was at my daughters friends house taking to her father. He mills tops and showed me his 3120
with 72” bar. Also had a real nice homemade 2-direction splitter as well as an older Ford tractor and stickler style cone splitter on the 3 point hitch. Drool city

Even with the metal and rot I had a feeling it would be hard to just walk away from the potential that there's some good wood in that tree.Happy you made contact.Let's see what happens.

60” if it’s not rotten in the middle that’s great but each round has to be hundreds of pounds. If you can do the job. I’d say do it offer 1000$ or 300 like you said it’s your time not mine. Word of mouth spreads you will probably get more jobs your way.

    Two things.
    1. I’ll find and subscribe to your YouTube channel. I never knew how things worked there. Thanks for enlightening me.
    2. I’m a retired diesel mechanic and when I’ll looking at jobs I use the old adage. “You can’t please everyone so you got to please yourself”. I figure out what it’s worth for me to do the work, quote it, maybe discuss what’s involved and if it doesn’t meet their agenda then fine. I’m on down the road.

More than 100's of pounds...solid 60" round cut to 16" would probably be close to 1000.

That is a big tree. But, I'm with the guys, looks like a lot of rot potential/hollow, even saw some on the limbs. I have been fooled before. Just watch out for the metal, if you tackle it.
And you know I enjoy your channel and I appreciate your comments on mine...
