As did I, but a local CSO (chain saw operative) was there on my behalf. Loads of cheap saws, many were bought by a scrapper. The gem of the saws was the McCulloch BP-1 which is headed north to Chicago. Many a man cave could have been filled with ornamental saws at rock bottom prices today. Just my buddy bidding against the ultimate buyer. Started it with $5 increments, then $10, jumped to $200, $250, then $325 and the final bid of $500. The buyer is a Mac collector. I suspect he will post on AS when he gets home. Last one that sold on e-Bay brought almost $1700.
I talked to said 'CSO' when he was on his way home from the auction. What a shame to hear a bunch are headed to the scrapper after surviving for so long and that a handful of two-man saws brought next to nothing...
If I had been the selling party, I would have been pizzed with only 12 bidders on site. Some of the outboards went for $15.
Fools and his $$$$ soon part. Guess I wont say what I know others pay for them. Way way cheaper. No hard feelings I hope you understand. It's JMO Last one I watched a guy do on a tear down on my site.
He didn't post on AS that I know of, but he posted on Sawhawgz. Nice that everyone knows what he paid for it now.
Most people that get a deal will tell you about it anyway!! Dang $15 outboards. I would of come home with a trailer full of stuff!
I hear ya. Between the occasional ebay purchase & phoning/emailing my other contacts for certain saws/parts & other requests are rough on the bank account.So I have to save up or work overtime for the major purchases.
