It was a lol type of comment..... the idea of the two leading cat stove companies having spies is a funny spy cs. Spy thing in my head.

I sell Vermont castings, blaze king, morso, Pacific energy, hearthstone, rais, heatnglo to name a few and every dealer is struggling to get product. There's a supposed cast shortage or materials/ metals that cost a fortune thanks to Brandon's fuel prices, light bulb/circuitry delays for gas stoves and logistical nightmares going on right now. Woodstock puts out a high quality product and sometimes things go wrong.

99% of the wood stoves right now have a lead time of anywhere from 8 weeks to 5.5 months.

Try buying commercial roofing products, it's really bad. Really bad. Hanging in there with metal and asphalt shingles til the oil prices kill those too. Coatings are gone too. Iso is out til next spring and they "hope" for some in March.

That's how its been with all his "incendiary posts" in recent times...drop the bomb and skedaddle for a few weeks...hasn't checked back in here since the OP yesterday...same on the other site.
Seems to be a pattern here... :sherlock:

It's strange to me that in this entire thread there was no mention of the hundreds of returns to Woodstock for cracked frames by the door, and warped parts. I admit I have no experience with Woodstock and obviously their customer service is great. But I don't want to buy a stove and then have to send it back.

a lot better than throwing it out!!

I had both these issues I think I was first year after beta.

    1) the warped part was a radiator that is a solid piece of 3/8 steel that warped with the intense heat of Cat. they Woodstock sent new model with stainless covers. Replaced when stove was running in coal stage, no tools 1 minute or less. Cost to me zero

    2) the crack in door frame steel. My IS was 6? Years old, out of warranty for over 5 years!

Would most people buy new or keep using it? I used it for one more winter, with crack, Woodstock pays to ship stove both ways and makes 6 year old stove new. Cost to me a few ibuprofen and beers for helpers. I don’t blame Woodstock for that could they have used heavier steel.. Yes but stove weigh over 700 pounds now!

Let’s also remember what the Ideal Steel is, it came from a prototype that won the Green heat award for a woodstove under $2,500 low emission etc etc

So Mitch this is nothing against you, we have never met. I see this as; yes company has had problems with new product. Ever hear don’t buy first model year of a car. No other company has ever made my 5 year old anything; frame off restoration for free!

yeah so I am a fan
