Ok, yes I live in New Jersey and what the Hell do I need a snow blower for? Well, we have had some snow in the past. Anyway, I have a 24" Yard Machines snow blower my FIL left us when he passed and it was only a year old. It'll work well here for sidewalks and stuff, but I was thinking along the lines of when we finally move up North. I'm thumbing through our local shopping paper most towns have and I see this ad for a Craftsman 29" 9hp snow blower, $175.00. I called the guy, went to see it and it was used about 6 times, (so he said) but it was in good shape and started right up. Paid the man and brought it home. Changed oil, adjusted a cable, added air in the tires and she's ready to go. This is a little bigger machine than the Yard Machines so I'm thinking this will do up there. Price was right! . P.S. Not my picture, was on the web, same machine though mine in a little better shape.

That is quite the deal Dave! I'm in the market for a new blower myself. In doing research I found the new Ariens Kraken which prices out at a paltry $4600... LOL
I've been using that very model for many many years. It gets a heavy coating of WD after every season and fuel treatment. Been totally reliable till last year, the plastic chute tore out at the base at a mount hole. Bought a USA made replacement and swapped it out. It does really well!

Yes. I did that on a regular basis. It started as a place for our dog to do its thing with snow on the ground. Then without snow retention plates on the roof of the garage, their run would fill up w snow when it was heavy so they needed a place to stretch their legs.
Don't remember what I paid but it was much more than you did! I bought it straight from Sears as a trade in so it wasn't brand new but it also looked like it had very little use. The plug in electric start is very convenient.
I think that happened to this one also. Here is a pic, (now that the Nor-east rain has stopped. I also removed the skids and ordered a much larger set, my place in New Hampshire has a stone/gravel base and these on the machine were a bit rough looking, not to mention small. I got some beefy ones coming from Amazon, These bad boys!!!
