Stirring it up This is latest Euro I have on Sam. Run over run it has started as a westerly outlier and continues to trend westerly instead of a lot of easterly curve models into the Atlantic The weekend after this one, approach to New England. At 948mb, that’s pretty deep. I’ll keep one eye on it for now.
At my SIL's. About 18in red oak. Can't see what might be damaged on the neighbor's trailer. I'm sure insurance claims will be in play. I'll hang on the sidelines, hoping to get at it. There might be a need for a tree service with a crane, to lift/cut it off the trailer.
That's a shame about the camper, hopefully you get some of that red oak though. Looks like the base of the trunk was infested with carpenter ants but I'm sure there's still plenty of solid wood to be had there
When it came down, it leaned against a 2nd RO. Slid down against it, before settling on the trailer. It might be resting on another tree or two. Hoping for minor trailer damage.
Hopefully they can slide the camper out of the mess before it shifts/settles any more. Almost done here. The winds are petering out.
The neighbor hasn't been home. It'll be interesting to see how it gets handled. I'm hoping for the trunk.
I just realized that I caught where the tree that was leaned into, has its rootball lifted. That tree is leaning towards the trailer, but doesn't seem to be in danger of falling
The rain has mostly stopped. The winds have calmed down enough to be somewhat comfortable walking out in the woods looking for downed trees/limbs. I didn't have to go far. This dead standing pine disassembled thru the night right outside my bedroom window. There's another dead pine down going across the shot this side of the stone garage. On the other side of the stone garage a small-ish oak is down. On my tractor road to my biodegradables dump there are three good size red oak trees down. Kind of a tangled up mess of one tree falling against another. I hate losing alive oaks. At the dump, a poplar snapped off in the middle: Across my road to the swamp, a swamp maple: Should keep me busy for a while. The north side of my house is plastered with leaves and pine needles. I hope they all dry up and fall off.
Man, you all in Mass got hammered! We got some wind and pounding rain, but thats the norm here. We had 40mph gusts and again, thats the norm...
