No, I told them I used it less than and hour (same day receipt) and it caught on fire...and I wouldn't want them to have any liability issues arise if I wasn't able to return it. Done and done.

One of the guys in my shop actually bought all his hand tools there when he started here. We rebuild substation circuit breakers- so think automotive sized mechanics tools. He is still using 90% of it, and does most of the rebuild work here. When something wears out, I told him to replace with an upgrade on us. It has really only been things like screwdrivers, allen wrenches, and punches. Ratchets and such are holding up just fine.

Funny story there...my Craftsman 3/8 ratchet was terrible...all 6 of them...Sears finally gave me a brand new one (instead of a rebuild) and told me to never come back (I might have raised a little Cain in their store one day ) I promptly traded it in on a Snap-On, that one has been fine...but my 1/4" Snap-On has been a PITA! I also have a couple HF ratchets laying around, and one is fine (great actually) and the rest are crap. :hair: So IME, ratchets are a crap shoot!

But don't buy a dog bone wrench from them (ratcheting box end). Bought a set for a special project, two immediately broke so I returned the set with no problems. Later pieced together a set (Proto, Snap On, old Craftsman and Thorsten). No problems yet!

Funny, my 1/4 drive snap on ratchet was useless as well. Went to Canadian Tire (Canada's answer to HF) got one of theirs and been fine ever since

The name brands are trying to compete with the chynesium brands, its no surprise they're not holding up.

Speaking of breaking a tool. I recently got a 1/2" x 24" breaker bar at auto zone. First use torque'ing lug nutz on my trailer, it exploded at the swivel cutting my palm. Wow you talk about stinging pain!!
Not to mention how pizzed i was...

And if you look at the casting in the break it looks like a screen door it’s so porous.

They are similar in length but these are really thin.

They are built better than those. I believe they are called service wrenches. I bought a 2” proto years ago for 150$. I’ve had pry bars and hammers on these with no failures. When using them for what their not intended for they are so thin they are hard on the hands. The are my goto wrench when dealing with a boss oring jam nut. So thin they always fit.

We have one of their Predator 9000va generators, but purchased it lightly used as in test ran from Craigslist. Seems to work well, but OMG that thing is loud. $100 + $20 tune-up can't complain too much.
