Definitely! When we pulled out of our driveway Tuesday, we didn’t know where we were going. It was all spur of the moment.
    ‘Twas chilly Sunday morning!

Not used to that yet. @730 in Gettysburg, it was 57 this morning.

Well, the rain moved in so we are in the 40's this morning. Yesterday we got up to 50. This is just crazy weather this fall.

    Nobody said hoarding was easy.
Nice feeling to finish a job like that.

You could send your kids to college selling an oak score like that in Colorado.

Funny how that works isn't it? I've got 40ish cord of Oak around here & I can get about $250.00 per cord. I'm always looking for quicker drying wood, Maple, Elm, Ash etc. Out there it's gold & here it's like meh, another 4 loads of Oak. I would literally trade pound for pound for some Lodgepole or Tamarack just to try it. I assume trucking would be a bit prohibitive though.

It is funny how wood preferences and price vary by area. I pick up Douglass Fir and Lodgepole along the side of the road, because it grows so thick here. It grows faster than people can burn it. Doug Fir and Lodgepole are both wonderful firewood. But... There's a guy on Craigslist that is selling white oak for $700 a cord here. He trucks it to Colorado from Texas and Oklahoma. He says he's sold 35 cords already this year and only has 5 left. That's a racket!

How about this guy, who will ship a small box of oak nugs to ya for $27 a box!

I worked about 5hrs Friday, then had all three of us there for about 6 Saturday. I spent some time with the owner's son teaching him a bit about felling safety. Nice folks from California. Wanting to learn, just never had the chance. The old flatbed did good.
