Does anyone remember what kind of ads or magazines that would show those decoder rings and those other chintzy objects that any of you could buy as a kid bring a "slueth". You could order these things for 25 to a dollar which was a lot then but others required just a UPC from the mag or the cereal box? I'm just looking for the sources these ads came from for a more specific internet search. The ads had a whole bunch in a Boys magazine I got when my dad cleaned out things at his moms house many years back but I have no idea the magazine now. Might have to take a stroll in an antique store now since this magazine was from the 50-60s.

I love seeing this kind of thing. I am blessed to have experienced some of this in my younger years.

I think my generation has pretty much been through it all. B&W tv to color , then to cable with the box on a wire , to a TV with wireless remote.
Rotary phones to push button , to pagers then cell phones the size of a cinder block , then flip phone to smart phones of today.
    Just to name a few.

This type of thing just brings back a ton of memories from when I was a young-one. And the simple things were so much fun.

    Thanks for posting!

And my generation goes back even further! The changes which have been made is amazing to say the least.

Even just in the past month I remember taking someone for a ride and showed them several places that used to be one-room schoolhouses including one that is still standing that attended.

My Great Grandmother was born in 1882 and died in 1975. I always marveled at all the changes in technology that happened during her lifespan.
