I just want to say thank you to all the fine folks that came and cut and split firewood this weekend. A good time was had by all. Saturday afternoon I stopped and looked around at all that was being done and I think we were doing more in one hour than I could get done in a month. When I look at that big pile of split wood it sure makes me thankful for all my FHC friends and this forum. And Lyle I told someone this weekend that I would like to shake hands with you one day.
Walt I'm so glad I made the trip out and got to help with that work! What a nice chunk of land you have for us to enjoy that weekend. I'll keep an eye out for the next one and be one of the guys pitching a tent along the river! Was great to meet you and the others that I never shook hands with before! Thanks to Armbru84 for alerting me of the event! See you guys at Kevins next year and back at Walts! Dan
Hi all. I got home around 6:00 last evening so I have lots of catching up to do and also pictures to look at. It was a good GTG at Walt's with a great crew. I had a good time.
It came about this way. My Wif said "we have to name the Firewood Gnome". I said "What do you name a burly, bewhiskered Firewood Gnome with a huge chainsaw and a big FHC belt buckle"? She replied "Why, Scotty, of course! What else could we name him"? And that's the rest of the story!
I still feel bad about that. I am not used to having steel in my wood down here, we do find copper jacketed lead but not much steel!
