Do you deliver of they pick up? Id consider going cheaper but the wood isnt on my property so no one can come here for PU per landlords request.
Right now everything I sell is from a roadside stand on my property. I plan to start delivering small quantities next year (as I build my inventory).
I charge the same whether nuggets of standard splits. $140 delivered and he is less than a mile from me. He got me into a good score last Winter as he is a cop next town over and was the traffic officer for the tree service.
I'm just coming across this thread and have read through it all. You run a very clean operation. What do you move the bins and totes with?
Thank you! I'm fortunate to have a Bobcat skid steer. That keeps everything moving and saves my back.
Yes indeed I have, just once several months ago. My in-laws have bought all kinds of bedroom furniture and other stuff there. If you see any good deals please let me know!
She already knows im cheap, frugal etc and accepts it. Looking forward to seeing your hoard grow and seeing lots of pics in this thread. Best of luck with the firewood business!
Thank you sir! I picked up a new toy yesterday that should increase production efficiency. I'll try it out this weekend. Pics to follow.
Sign up for their email sales. Comes in on Tuesday afternoon/evening. When leaving their parking lot, turn to the right, I am the second residence (farm up a lane, calves and/or ponies in the front pasture). Let me know next time your going to be around, maybe we could meet up.
It's been really wet lately so not much firewood related had been happening. I came across free wood on Marketplace last week so I reached out. The woman said I could have it. Finally went out yesterday afternoon to load up. It was a large cottonwood. Bigger than I expected and I only had a cordless saw so I took most of the limbwood and a few pieces of the trunk. I'll have to go back for the rest. Turns out the lady is the property manager for the community and they plan on more cleanup. She said she would contact me first and I can have everything they cut. Took a half day off from work yesterday to catch up after all the rain we had. After finishing the mowing, I did some splitting and cutting, then clean up and organizing. This is most of next year's inventory. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
Met customers at my roadside stand yesterday. I normally don't have any idea who buys wood from me. The woman told me (repeatedly) that they love my firewood. They used to live nearby and now have moved across town and still come every weekend for more. It was really encouraging to know I'm doing this right. She said they used to buy from gas stations and couldn't get wood once so they stopped at my stand. They couldn't believe how dry it is and how easily it lights. I explained a little about premium firewood and thanked them for purchasing from me. Just wanted to share a story. This is my firewood bundle stand. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk
