Lol The aftermarket muffler mentioned above- They are “ok” for this series but may require a spacer for 034 cylinders. Some have a baffle but a large exit. The bolt holes are quite often “off.” OEM, as always, is your best option.
Well, he doesn't have physical access to it at the moment. I can't honestly say one way or the other. Although, I would think there would be cracks and/or tears if it was broken spot welds. I'm not seeing that at this point. $.02
Big thanks to huskihl for fixing up the muffler for me. Looks great and I'm sure it'll last a long time. UPS took up pretty much all of the downtime, but that's all in the rearview mirror now. Still way faster than USPS these days. Had to modify the top cover a bit, but since it had a hole through it.. not so much of a problem by me. I will likely replace the chain brake, but for now will have to be content to check it to see if it's getting too much heat. Thanks again Kev.
Without having an 034/6 here to mock it up on, I was mostly concerned with it not interfering with the case. Got her a touch high I guess. Oh well. You needed a reason to cut that burned spot out of the cover anyway
Yep, it's not the prettiest mod job, but better than a melted hole. The work you did is top notch. No complaints here.
Just another fine example of why huskihl is a top-notch guy! I was gonna offer to fix the muffler for Chaz but as I was perusing down through the thread, low and behold, I saw Kevin already did it..... Made me smile today when everything around me is a mess..... Top notch stuff right there! Chaz, make sure the tune on your saw is still good (if Kevin opened that hole up any more). Might need richened up a tad.
You noticed that too. I didn't want to say anything ; you know in today's world people are so sensitive and I didn't want to upset anyone.
