My little trailer isn't much to see but it sure is handy. Before, I would split and pile the wood on the ground and then use the wheelbarrow to move it to the stacking area. Now I split and toss on the little trailer; less handling of the wood is nice. One of the reasons I got this trailer was the full size wheels. I think I could load more without any issues; just need to make the sides taller. I haven't done any work on the trailer as you can see.
Looks don't matter Kimberly, function does. That trailer is doing a great job for what you want it for.
Look like a great trailer to me Kimberly. Like you said just need to make the sides a little taller. I have one that is not much bigger and I haul a lot of wood in it.
Yes, I made a post back when I first got it and some members said something about filling it up with wood. The update is just to show that it is coming in handy for wood processing. I park it beside the wood splitter and then split and toss on the trailer, way better than wheelbarrowing.
I have Dad's '49 8N Ford tractor. You can just see it in my avatar. I built a carry-on for hauling wood that you can see in the avatar; there is also a harbour freight carrier that I added to the front for counterweight. I fill it full of wood as well because these are small light tractors. I never felt at east with loading the carry-all behind the tractor; the trailer is going to be better. For now, the trailer is just going to be "farm use" as they say. I kicked around getting one to pull behind the Buick but my Buick has a low towing limit. I am still thinking of getting a truck but that has been put aside for now.
No, Dad's '49 8N. The trailer is just for property use. Maybe when I get a truck I will make it highway ready; It needs lights.
Nice trailer! When I first started I made a few piles of splits and then transferred to the garden cart and then I too realized it was massively inefficient as I would have to then touch every single split one extra time. Any way that I can reduce the number of touches I do now having learned my lesson the hard way. Plus filling up the garden cart gives me a respite from splitting to take a water break. It also breaks up the stacking into little pieces so it's easier to tackle versus a giant pile of splits.
