    Hello
Well I tried and had to give us finding an EZ Lube grease cap to fit my Old Harbor Freight Trailer frame wheel hub!! I really don’t think they make them anymore! I saw many that said either 1.98 or 1.99 and even though some said they would fit, they just slipped right out! A little frustrating to say the least!!
So I purchased a set that said 1.99” from e-trailer.com that say TRP on the rubber part which are the exact same as what Autozone sells and luckily Harbor Freight sells a Doming Block & Punch set. I selected the #3 and banged out 4 domes and Bingo, I could Bang the cap on to stay!!!

Did you get the bearing issue sorted?

Now that I can easily grease it, that will be next!

I wouldn’t have guess there were grease fittings on the axle of a harbor freight trailer.

There is a grease fitting for the inside bearing on the axle behind the hub but this EZ-Lube cap really gets the grease into the outside bearing. :)

Isn't lubing the outer bearing just going to push the old grease from it into the inside bearing? It might be better to clean that outer bearing first.
I've always installed Bearing Buddies on my trailers without brakes. They are similar to what you installed. They have a spring that is supposed to maintain positive pressure within the hub to keep water out.
Grease added will eventually exit through the inner seal, or in your case maybe also around the cap since it fits loosely. Typically you don't want to use these with brakes as the grease exiting out the inner seal can contaminate the brake linings.

I never knew that such a thing as a doming block punch set existed. Thanks for sharing.

I have some bearing buddies but they would not stay on either. They are nice but too thick to do any doming on. After doing the doming the Dexter caps fit nice and tight and seem fine. I am losing some grease out the back seals so I probably need some new ones. I am not sure the grease in there is high temp like the red and tacky so I want to replace it all. I also want to get a cover to keep the rain off which also may help the bearings last longer.
    That doming kit worked great!

Grease in, grease out...its gotta go somewhere...put new seals in, the grease may just push them out, seen it before.
