I get them on my camera all the time here deep in the backyard. They have never come near the house so I leave them alone. We hear the pack howling all the time.

We had a lot here at one time. Disease came through here I’m guessing. I haven’t heard a howl or got a pic on trail cam in almost 2 years.

Man! They're howling tonight! Maybe a memorial service for their lost brother! At least they are not on my back porch.

Here too. I've taken one during gun deer season with my 7mm rem mag. It was a large 'yote, but it surely didn't suffer at all with that overkill round.

We are wrapped up with 'yotes down here. My cousin got this big Alpha male across the creek from us 17706.jpeg
And I got this younger male with my 7mm Mag at 225 yrs. He didn't suffer. They are an invasive species here, introduced here yrs ago by fox hunters... 17306.jpeg

Healthy looking animals. Looks like they're part domestic dog, especially the first picture. We have plenty of "coydogs" running free here in southern New England.

Miss July got a coyote last hunting season.
She was scoping a buck standing in a field when it took off running full speed. Next thing there was the coyote in the same spot.
Well if you're gonna chase my deer off...

A few years ago I was deer hunting and I somehow walked close enough to poke a big coyote at a good 100+ yards with my 7mm rem mag. Usually those critters are Wiley enough that you wouldn't ever get to see them while walking in the woods, let alone get a shot off.

T.Jeff Veal they sure don't suffer when you hit a yote with a 7mm rem mag. TurboDiesel , what deer gun did your wife take that one with?

They are eating good down here, for sure. Turkey poults, deer fawns...never see any red foxes anymore. Grey fox will climb a tree and escape, reds can't...:(:(...
I had a cousin that trapped them a few years ago. He caught one that was almost totally black, he said that was the meanest one he had seen. It would try to bite you...

I shot one with a 25-06 at about 150 yds once. Quickest deadest animal I ever saw! My neighbor has seen 5 at once in his back yard (2 adults 3 smaller) and we live in suburbia. Don't mind them in the woods, don't like them in the backyard. House cats go missing all the time in this area. We live very close to the Ft Lewis reserve which is all wooded and huge so the coyotes are always washing in and out of the nearby suburbs.
