I am rolling on third day of the boiler running, love the fell and smell. The domestic hot water has taken a little getting used to the higher temperature. Back to bucking and splitting.
I fired mine up yesterday. Pool needs a little heat with the cooler evenings we are having in the Carolinas. I enjoyed seeing smoke roll but it also made me remember why I cut split and stack in almost all my spare time. That thing is very hungry heating the pool. Enjoy Rope
Like the screen name, one of my sons name is Justin , his nikename is J- bird or J. All his hockey teammates call him J. One funny story…at a tournament J was the only kid on the ice, I was sitting on the front row. His teammates come walking by and ask where J was, at that moment a different teammate says Justin is on the ice. Without hesitation 2-3 teammates ask who’s Justin? Was quite funny watching the teammates have a discussion about J. Thank for the memory J bird
Enjoying a slight delay due to rain. Then hopefully that is short lived. I am hoping to get hunting gear sorted out tomorrow for sheep hunting the 13th.
I will admit to being just a bit envious Tom. I just came in from delivering the 4th load of campfire wood for the weekend. Cutting & splitting here too and it's 83F. Could be worse I guess the humidity is reasonable at least, but still.
Envious no doubt... 86 here... just split for 1 1/2 hours and there’s not a dry piece of cloth on me... still better than a couple of weeks ago... Make sure to take some pictures of the hunting season...
Hunting a dall is at the top of my bucket list. Im afraid by the time I can afford a hunt, I won't physically be able to do it. Keep an update on your hunt. And good luck.
That's a nope for me, I am not ready for winter yet It was 80 today. Had to work this morning, got home about noon, the misses is gone camping so I started on one of my projects to get ready for winter, I cleared a area earlyer this year to store hay and equipment. So I layed some plastic down today for a weed barrier and got some stuffed moved onto it. Still Got 90 more round bales to hual home and stack and finish moving stuff onto the plastic I was drenched in sweat working out there today. In the process of laying out the plastic there. Just made my self some steaks on the grill, think it times to fire up the mower and headlights and do some mowing for a while with a couple cold beverages Only 16 hours into my day so far why quit yet
We can rest when we are dead. I couldn’t imagine life sitting in a cubicle all day then going home and just turning your thermostat on the wall up. Nothing like going to bed after a hard days work.
The advice I would like to leave with you is, “Do what it takes”. I work OT to the tune of a second job amount of OT. Figure things out make the sacrifice and don’t wait to get to your sheep hunt to old to do it. If that’s the case go on a horseback hunt.
Have you thought of installing a temperature balancing valve in the system? That way the temps are always the same.
Don't do it Rope ! Over the course of owning 3 OWBs, I never felt the need to put in a balancing valve. Neither did anyone else in those households. No scalds and no regrets. Made for some very nice hot soaking bathtubs for the lady of the house.
No worries I won’t mess with any kind of additional valve. End user can use a little less hot and turn a little more cold. I can say that these last 4 days of bucking, splitting and stacking about 10 cords I have enjoyed the hootttt water and the extra time to get rid of some soreness.
