Tomorrow is September 11th, all of us here know well what happened 20 years ago. I was there on the 12th doing ship escorts and boarding everything moving on the water. That's nor here or there but PLEASE, I ask for you to take a minute to either, say a prayer, take a moment of silence, think of the brave Men and Ladies who served, were lost, killed and never went home to their loved ones! Please, Please, regardless of your political structure or religious faith, just remember the 3000+- folks who perished. God Speed to them!
Very solemn day Dave. I still have a hard time listening to stuff in the radio or seeing it on TV. Never forget!
I was just talking about this to 99 this afternoon. I'm wondering just how many young (20 or less) people know or even care about 9 11? Bringing back the draft wouldn't be such a bad idea. It just might keep people from being so "entitled".
I plan on it... Still remember it like it was yesterday... My plane landed in Chicago just after the first plane had hit. God Bless all the Men and Women that lost their lives on that day and the days... years later...
Thank you WeldrDave for your service. I remember everything from that day exactly. I was so pizzed and violated.
Up early looking at pictures of 9/11. It is still hard. Reminds me of when we had a strong, unified country. Has the lesson not been learned? Let that sink in. Flag goes half-staff at sunrise. Never forget.
One of my first thoughts this morning. Still hard to absorb it all. Maybe they should shut down all air traffic every 9/11 in remembrance. Won't happen of course.
That would "REALLY" be a tribute to those people! Great Idea! I am gonna run with your thought to some high up folks!!! I have some "good high up friends" in places, maybe this can happen some day! This is all you Chaz . Great Idea!
Really don't see it as anything that's likely to happen. But it is something me and Jill have talked about over the years. It was so very odd/freaky to know that there was not a plane in US airspace that wasn't military. But it would be something that people would pay attention to. They might be inconvenienced.
Snagged this from a hotel on my way back from Borger, TX. My flight from Houston to Cleveland was canceled so I stayed an extra night in the road. While on the planes on the way down I couldn't help but think of how those on the fateful flights that Sept morning felt. It was surreal and sobering. My boys and I looked through this issue yesterday. They need to realize what was lost that day. Sad, sad, day.
We will never forget and I agree that bringing back the draft would be good for our young people as long as they don’t indoctrinate wokeism and critical race as part of basic training. The military is only used when we need protection of our freedoms by killing our enemies and blowing up their equipment. Today our leaders give our enemies billions of dollars of our equipment and technology while we leave Americans stuck behind to fend for themselves against a group of professional and businesslike barbarians. What ever happened to leave no man behind. But I digress Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
