You ever get back to the score where you had been cutting dead BL? Neighbors property where you used your quad if i recall correctly.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That looks like it's in pristine shape. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind sharing? Does it need any work?

Brad that looks like a nice pile of locust right there. I'm jealous. I'll always take more black locust!!

$300 and the only issue I encountered while using it yesterday is the off switch not working, but that may be user error, or the metal piece needs a little bending.

Yes, still have plenty to get. I was able to get a few loads out last winter before the snow got to deep.

$300 sounds like a good deal! Yeah mine wouldn't choke because the lever for choke need a little bendage. The off switch is different. Hopefully you don't have to replace your thumb switch.

It’s usually the metal spring that wears/bends on these saws. I replace ‘em quite frequently on used saws.

    Nice score, there.

I saw a couple sticks on the side of the road today. Will be driving back that way next weekend and I won’t be driving the Honda. It ain’t much but it’s worth the brake wear of pulling over. :)

I noticed that on the switch of my refurbished 026 i used briefly on Friday. Let me know how you fix it and if it does the trick.

024/026 (1121 series) have the same metal spring. The best fix is a new spring. Be careful when pulling the wires and when pushing the new spring in.

I honestly cant believe i did either Jason. I drove by 2-3 times in the last few months to make sure it was still there. Only something a crazy hoarder would do. Wood still sitting in the PU out front and trying to determine where/how to SS right away. I still have 4-5 PU fulls from Winter/early Spring at storage to SS yet. 1/3 is BL.

This was the hickory i had lined up yesterday that the guy changed his mind. Im not giving up on it though. Very recent roadside cutting. Park off the road, cut and load. Pignut and shag. IMG_5560.JPG IMG_5561.JPG

Honda? Couldnt fit em in the trunk huh? You're not a car hoarder Joe?

We went to Haddam Neck fair today and i spotted more roadkill BL in Cobalt. Hard to grab though. On embankment other side of guardrail too. Her oldest daughter and BF moving there before Winter so we will be going there a lot more to see granddaughter. His father has a nice chunk of land not far from Hurd SP and they are building a house.

I believe in my neck of the woods about half the quote for a tree job is clean up and haul off. There are no dumping fees and state owned landfills. Most smaller towns have a designated brush site too, free of charge.

Nope, not a car hoarder. Heck I seldom throw wood in the back of the truck. Trailer or nuthin. I’ll make an exception for these tho.
Have you checked out this land near Hurd? You doing the clearing? There just may be some BL on it.

Its on property his father owns and has a house on already. They are building in back moving from RI. They just brought in a large camper trailer which they will live in for the time being. Minimal clearing to be done. No BL on the property. Lots of hickory and oak. Because they live in RI we've been frequenting there to see baby granddaughter.

Rather than bring the rounds to storage and unload i decided to split as i unloaded (something i did for a while when i hand split) load the wheelbarrow and stack. The stacking area is 100' father on the other side of a real muddy area where the water table is high so i cant drive in there unless real dry or frozen. PITA but it is what it is! IMG_5575.JPG IMG_5576.JPG I had a 5 x 10' half cord rack ready for the splits. Fill the wheelbarrow, shut off splitter then stack. Repeat until full. IMG_5577.JPG Filled it up IMG_5578.JPG Had several rounds which i unloaded and left unsplit. Have to make another rack. IMG_5579.JPG Close to two face cord for the truck load. More wood at the score. Stay tuned.

Does it really count as a BL score if you dont fight either thorn bushes, vines, a hillside or poison ivy?

That hoarding was way too easy. Nice job.
