I had it on the brain again after buying 6mil plastic to cover all my stacks, then seeing that the stuff that is only 2 years old is shredded already. I checked craigslist, and found a posting for 33 sheets of 8 foot by 36 inch and 2 10 foot sections and a couple short pieces, from supposedly a barn on the property that James Buchanan, 17th? president, owned. I don't know whether to believe that, but for less than 10 bucks a sheet, the whole lot was 300 bucks, I wasn't arguing. Now I can properly cover my stacks, and this will hopefully outlast me. Now my wife wants me to build wood sheds, and use it as roofing. That will come in time. 20210830_184124.jpg

I love using this stuff for top covering. Be sure to bend back the sharp corners with pliers to help avoid anyone getting cut by it.

Found a similar deal on 23.5' sections this summer. I am between homes and will be stacking and storing in the woods for a year or two. Thought I better get serious and get wood off the ground and top covered. You got a good deal by PA standards.

When I was 21, a neighbor gave me several nice sheets of that stuff. Being the dumb kid that I was, I spray painted targets on them and shot holes in them:picard:

What a score! I bought several corrugated plastic ones and quickly found out they’re not the same. If the top layer of your stack isn’t perfectly level they tend to warp and bow over time.

I used some yesterday for covering most of the remainder of my wood stacks. Just have to stack a little more then finish the job.

Great score. I'd be chomping at the bit to build racks if I had all that.
